Brexit-would a celebrity endorsement sway you?

With the referendum on whether Britain should remain in the European Union just weeks away (Thursday 23 June) the the ‘ins and outs’ campaigns re finally underway. With many of the polls now seeming to close to call what will make you decide? (if you haven’t already).

The press including the Sunday Times reported today that Sir Ian Botham ‘swings bat for Brexit’

The article cites ‘Sir Ian Botham today backs the campaign to leave the European Union, declaring that Britain should “stand proud” as he did as a cricketer.

In a coup for the Brexit camp the former all-rounder known as “Beefy” — one of England’s greatest sportsmen — claimed Britain sends £50m a day to fund “a racket” in Brussels.

He urged the UK to break free and strike trade deals with Britain’s “natural friends” in the Commonwealth, calling it “insane” that the UK cannot do bilateral deals with them now.

Botham spoke out as Boris Johnson launched an outspoken attack on David Cameron, George Osborne and Theresa May, accusing the three most senior members of the cabinet of misleading voters over immigration.’
In a world where many celebrities and public figures are happy to announce their personal preferences do you feel that a celebrity endorsement would sway your decision?
