I know performance brakes are supposed to be a bit noisy when cold and the car stops perfectly fine once everything’s warmed up, but this feels excessive even by M car standards and the dealership just told me it’s completely normal which felt like a polite way of saying they don’t want to deal with it. The pads still have plenty of life left and the discs look fine so I’m not about to throw a set of ceramics at the problem just to avoid embarrassing myself in car parks. Has anyone actually found a solution that reduces the cold squeal without switching to a less aggressive pad compound, I came across http://bmw-garage.ae/ while reading through old threads and wondered if an independent shop might be more willing to experiment with shims or different bedding procedures than the official dealer who just wants to sell me a whole new setup I don’t need.
